Wassan Awad, Psychologist

Wassan Awad, Psychologist

Hello, hello, I’m Wassan (pronounced Was-Sarn) a General Psychologist practicing in Carlton at The Urban Alchemist.

My work is guided by compassion, curiosity, and a deep respect for the complexity of human experience. I offer grounded, evidence‑based support with a genuine commitment to empowering the people I work with.

My approach is integrated and neuro-affirming, drawing on trauma‑informed, mindfulness‑based, and strengths‑based frameworks.

Every intervention is tailored, no two people are the same, and neither is the support I offer. I work within evidence‑based, gold‑standard modalities including CBT, ACT, DBT, mindfulness‑based, and schema therapy.

I support a wide range of presentations, including:

      • Anxiety and depression
      • Neurodiversity (managing and affirming)
      • Phobias and OCD
      • Personality disorders
      • Trauma and PTSD
      • Psychotic disorders
      • Stress and burnout
      • Workplace and relationship difficulties
      • Life transitions

I provide in‑person and Telehealth sessions and my practice is proudly LGBTQIA+ and sex‑worker friendly. I strive to create a space that is safe, affirming, and free from judgment. I accept clients through Private Health, MHCP, NDIS, WorkCover, Comcare, DVA, and TAC.

If you’re ready to understand yourself with compassion and curiosity, I’d be honoured to walk alongside you.
